HTH Teaching Channel TEAMS
This course is comprised of the following sections*: Dates: Tuesdays
Explicit and Direct Instruction (Tina Mantikas, Instructor) October 18th, 2016
Data Collection (Kim Zawislak, Instructor) December 6th, 2016
Accessing Complex Texts (Ashley Sirabella, Instructor) January 10th, 2017
Technology (Jessica Kelly, Instructor) February 28th, 2017
Questioning (Instructor to be determined) March 21st, 2017
*Those registering for credit must take ALL FIVE sections!
Description: Teachers will attend a one-hour, in-person session where a problem of practice is addressed by an expert colleague. Teachers will then post video on Tch TEAM of their practice and comment on each other’s video, giving valuable feedback on five different issues that are addressed in each of the five sessions. Topics include: EDI, Data Collection, Accessing Complex Texts, Technology, and Questioning.
Expected Outcomes for Teachers: Improved pedagogy in five separate teaching areas.
Expected Outcomes for Students: Improved achievement due to improved instruction.
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Location: HTH Conference Room
Credit: 10 hrs. = one in-service credit
or
Stipend: 1 hr. = $45.
*NOTE: As there are a limited number of stipends ($45/hour) available, teachers will only
be allowed to apply for one stipend. Stipends will be on a first-come, first served basis, with
priority given to teachers at Masters Level 75.
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT, EVIDENCE OF COMPLETED WORK MUST BE PROVIDED TO THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR.
ON-LINE REGISTRATION ONLY CLOSES AT 3:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11th.
(PAPER REGISTRATIONS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED)
