This course is comprised of the following sections*: Dates:
Classroom Management and Organization (Michele Malone, Instructor) Wed., 11/16/16
GO Math with Fractions (Barbara Allaire, Instructor) Tues., 12/6/16
Fundations (Kristina Castellano, Instructor) Tues., 1/10/17
Enhancing Your Writing Instruction (Mausberger/Dalton, Instructors) Thurs., 2/2/17
Reading Across the Content Areas (Jessica Wigdzinski, Instructor) Wed., 3/1/17
*Those registering for credit must take ALL FIVE sections!
Description: This is a hybrid course comprised of five different areas as listed above. There will be one hour of in-person instruction and one hour of on-line participation.
Expected Outcomes for Teachers: Teachers will learn new research-based strategies, view the new strategies being used with DAV students, use the strategies themselves, and comment on each other’s videos.
Expected Outcomes for Students: Increased teacher effectiveness will result in better learning outcomes for all students.
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Location: Davison Avenue School, Room 212
Credit: 10 hrs. = one in-service credit
or
Stipend: 1 hr. = $45.
*NOTE: As there are a limited number of stipends ($45/hour) available, teachers will only
be allowed to apply for one stipend. Stipends will be on a first-come, first served basis, with
priority given to teachers at Masters Level 75.
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT, EVIDENCE OF COMPLETED
WORK MUST BE PROVIDED TO THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR.
ON-LINE REGISTRATION ONLY CLOSES AT 3:00 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9th.
