Course: MTC #101-19
Higher Order Thinking and Questioning Techniques
Instructor: Jackie Coonan
Description: Teachers will be exposed to models, tools and strategies that are aimed at strengthening their own questioning skills. Teachers will be provided with opportunities to critique their own lessons and to modify the essential questions that steer those same lessons. Teachers will learn how to use several apps that allow students to answer questions and to participate in educational discourse on a virtual platform.
Expected Outcome for Teachers: Teachers will be encouraged to push their lessons (and the questions within those lessons) to the “next level.” Teachers will learn how to use their technology to present their questions in new, innovating ways.
Expected Outcome for Students: Students exposed to the “right” questions on a consistent basis will become independent thinkers and adept problem solvers.
