NGSS – Three Dimensional Learning K-5

Description: This is an introductory workshop to explore:
Expected Outcomes for Teachers: Participants will design one lesson including the three dimensions and use it as a guide for future planning.
Expected Outcomes for Students: Students will begin to engage in the three dimension learning in science to gain knowledge of the natural world.
Dates: Wednesdays October 25th
November 8th
Time: 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Location: DA Library
Credit: 5 hrs. = ½ in-service credit
or
Stipend: 1 hr. = $45.
*NOTE: As there are a limited number of stipends ($45/hour) available, teachers will only be allowed to apply for one stipend. Stipends will be on a first-come, first served basis, with priority given to teachers at Masters Level 75.
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT, EVIDENCE OF COMPLETED WORK MUST BE PROVIDED TO THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR.

- the shifts in teaching and learning as a set of performance expectation that involve the three dimensions of science.
- activities so participants can experience the shifts and focus on an awareness of the three dimensional nature, teaching approaches, and how to start preparing for their implementation.
