ourse: MTC #102-21 Seesaw in the Classroom and Beyond (Grades K – 5) (Laptop or iPad required)

Description: This course will support teachers in setting up, implementing, and growing in their use of Seesaw in the classroom, as well as in home learning. Teachers will be provided step by step instruction in navigating the Seesaw platform, as well as using it to build interactive and engaging lessons. New features released for “Seesaw for Schools” and the 2020-21 school year will be demonstrated, and teachers will have an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and support one another.
Session 1 - Setting up and organizing your Seesaw classroom and assigning work
Session 2 - New features in Seesaw for Schools and making your lessons more engaging
Session 3 - Providing feedback to students and creating choice boards
Session 4 - Having fun with Seesaw: bitmojis, scratch & read, hidden pictures, mystery activities,
flip books, boom cards, word sorts and more
Expected Outcome for Teachers: Teachers will feel more confident using the Seesaw platform, have an opportunity to ask questions, and challenge themselves to use more of the interactive features with their students. Also, they will gain new ideas of how to use Seesaw to enhance their teaching and incorporate technology daily. Teachers will be able to provide a work sample to demonstrate new learning.
Expected Outcome for Students: Students will become more comfortable using Seesaw across Grades K – 5. They will have an opportunity to use multiple mediums to demonstrate their knowledge and express their ideas in the classroom and at home.
Next Generation Learning Standards to be addressed: The Standards for Mathematical Practice 5. Mathematically proficient students consider the available tools when solving a mathematical problem. ELA Anchor Standards 2 and 7. Speaking and Listening Anchor Standard 5.
